Tea, The Origin

Tea originated in China has a history spanning 4,000 to 5,000 years. It was also an important commodity along the ancient Silk Road. Fujian Province, blessed with a unique geographical environment and climatic condition, has become one of China’s most famous tea-producing regions, especially renowned for its scented tea, white tea, oolong tea, black tea, green tea, etc.

Based in Canada, we, Hung Gay Enterprises Ltd. established a business relationship with Fujian Tea Imp.&Exp. Co., Ltd. as early as 1986 during the Canton Fair. In the blink of an eye, it has been 39 years. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of China Tea (Fujian), I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for its continuous success and even greater achievements in the years to come.

The Connection with our Lives

Chinese tea culture, said to be originated during Han Dynasty and formed since Tang Dynasty. Thus, China, commonly understood to be considered the homeland of civilization of tea. The traditional Chinese saying “seven daily necessities: firewood, rice, edible oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, and tea”shows that from ancient times, tea has closely related with our lives, and has long been an integral part of Chinese culture.

Close Collaboration of 39 Years

Fujian Tea Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd has always been committed to protecting the ecological environment of tea-producing regions, strictly keeping eyes on the quality control to ensure that every product meets the relevant international standards to worldwidely distributed.

Through our network in Canada, Hung Gay Enterprises Ltd has introduced quality teas to consumers supplied by China Tea(Fujian) , including jasmine tea, white tea, oolong tea, black tea, and green tea.

In 1990s, to further understand Canadian demands and scheming the market, Hung Gay Enterprises Ltd invited and welcomed investigators from China Tea(Fujian) to Canada for many times.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of both companies for nearly 39 years, through some activities like marketing, tasting and promotion, there are increasing number of Chinese tea buyers in Canada get to know Fujian tea. They savor the sweetness and fragrance, knowing that tea is not just a natural beverage, but also an enjoyment of mental peace, eventually forming a good tea-drinking lifestyle.

Quality Control and Improvement

Over these 39 years of seamless collaboration between us, we are sharing one goal clearly, which is to build and maintain the reputation of the “Sprouting” and “Butterfly” chinese tea produced by China Tea(Fujian). This commitment has never changed. For instance, in early 2000s, our company was authorized by China Tea(Fujian) to handle several cases of counterfeit products selling in Canada.

Placing great importance on tea quality, China Tea(Fujian) has long been engaged in ensuring their teas meeting international restriction on pesticide residues and harmful metals.

Over the years, packaging has also continuously been improved. Laser labels and silver thread seals are attaching additionally to the wrapping film of the packages. Meanwhile, our company has had published newspaper ads in an attempt to instruct consumers distinguishing the authenticity of the product, safeguarding their interests. Furthermore, with the increasing concerns one personal lives, from your end, there are some organic tea products launching.
