China Tea Puerh Menghai Smart Factory Break Ground

On May 28, 2026, the construction commencement ceremony of the China Tea Puerh Menghai Smart Factory was grandly celebrated in the 8-Kilometer Industrial Park of Menghai County, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, alongside the successful conclusion of the 2026 China Tea(Yunnan) National Distributor Conference. 

This landmark event represents a key step of China Tea in enlarging its national capacity and cultivating deep into core Puerh origins. It stands as a vital milestone, leveraging technological innovation to fuel high-quality industry growth while uniting with its partners to unlock a more promising future.

Senior Management team of China Tea, guests from government body, industry association, experts, scholars within Industry, domestic distributor representatives and mainstream media participated in the event, witnessing together this significant moment of China Tea.

At the event, Mr. WANG Zhiying, Chairman of China Tea said, the new factory will rely on its self-developed “Tian Long Ba Bu”innovative technology to implement cutting-edge applications such as AI intelligent grading of tea raw materials, verification of Pu-erh tea aging, and quality traceability. This will achieve a deep integration of traditional tea-making craftsmanship with modern digital intelligent manufacturing, upgrading the industry's capabilities through intelligent, standardized, and green production.

He added that Menghai factory will play a vital role in areas like R&D,and production of new products, leading digital intelligent manufacturing within tea industry, servicing tea farmers and consumers and promoting Chinese tea culture.

He pointed out that the new factory will be built into: a facility that continuously creates good and innovative products meeting the people's tea-drinking needs; a modern factory empowered by digitalization and technology; an important platform serving tea farmers and consumers; a practical training base for universities and research institutes; a significant front for promoting tea culture; a key site for the integrated development of tea culture and tourism; a popular internet-famous landmark that attracts young people to visit; a cultural sanctuary that Pu-erh tea enthusiasts yearn for; a showcase for the company China Tea, and a name card for COFCO. 

The year 2027 will mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of China Tea Kunming Tea Factory and the 130th anniversary of the birth of Mr. Wu Juenong, one of the founders of China Tea. The construction of Meng Hai site would be a tribute to the heritage of the old tea factory and the spirit of tea industry pioneers. China Tea will collaborate with all relevant parties to develop the project into a high-quality, efficient, clean, and trustworthy project.

The concurrently held 2026 China Tea Yunnan National Distributor Conference brought together distributors nationwide and research experts to explore pathways for industrial upgrading and to jointly plan a new pattern of mutual growth and win-win cooperation between manufacturers and distributors.
