Part 1: Creation: The Birth of New-Process White Tea
To further expand the Hong Kong market, in 1968, China Tea(Fujian) developed an innovative production process of white tea together with Bailin Branch of Fuding Tea Factory, on top of the successful trial making of “New White Tea”in 1964. During this process, withered leaves were properly and quickly rolled, then dried.

The finished products, using new techniques, tends to possess tight, rolled strips, and darker,more full-boided tea soup, which is deeply loved by HK consumers. Later, the white tea produced with new techniques are collectively called“Fujian New White Tea”“New Techniques White Tea” or simply “New White Tea”.
In 1969, “New White Tea” started its mass production, and were exclusively sold to HK market by China Tea(Fujian), gaining a large amount of popularity there.
